Functional Medicine

Functional medicine embraces much of the philosophy of Integrative medicine but also employs a systems-oriented medical approach that works to identify and understand the underlying or root causes of disease. This discipline takes into account the personalization of healthcare, as each patient care plan is distinct and unique. The relationship between patient and practitioner effectively becomes a partnership; every aspect of a patient’s medical history is reviewed in detail. Much like integrative medicine, functional medicine treats the individual rather than the disease.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It’s based on the theory that energy, called chi (say “chee”), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.

Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances your chi. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow back into balance. Acupuncture is done by putting very thin needles into your skin at certain points on your body. This is done to influence the energy flow. Sometimes heat, pressure, or mild electrical current is used along with needles.

Consider Acupuncture: Acupuncture may help reduce stress and ease pain associated with certain conditions and help with many other health problems.

Conditions: Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, nerve pain.

Symptoms: Aching, back pain, burning, headache, joint tenderness, menstrual cramps, migraines, muscle pain, pain, buttock pain, elbow pain, face pain, foot pain, hand pain, hip pain, jaw pain, knee pain, leg pain, lower back pain, neck pain, scalp pain, shoulder pain, thigh pain, upper back pain, wrist pain, sharp pain, shooting pain, stiffness, anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty sleeping, weakness.

Chelation Therapy

Chelation therapy involves a chemical solution called EDTA injected into the bloodstream to remove heavy metals. You get the chelating medicine through an intravenous (IV) tube in your arm. It’s also available in pill form. Once the drug has attached to the metal, your body removes them both through your pee. Metals that can be removed with chelation therapy include lead, mercury, and arsenic. Before you get this treatment, your doctor will do a blood test to make sure you have metal poisoning.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy (Craniosacral therapy) is a very gentle specialty within Osteopathy, which is particularly useful for the treatment of children. Cranial Osteopathy can be helpful if a child has had a difficult birth or for those “unsettled” babies and children. Cranial Osteopathy works with the body’s involuntary mechanisms, helping to restore a calming balance to natural biorhythms by means of gentle massage of the child’s skull.

Hair Restoration

PRP injections combined with PDO threads for hair restoration is a non-surgical therapeutic option for male and female hair loss. It’s normal to shed some hair each and every day, but excessive hair loss is a big concern to both men and women. Sometimes, this excess loss can progress to baldness. Baldness can be inherited or due to certain medications; it can also be a symptom of an underlying medical condition. PRP was established two decades ago to be an effective medical treatment modality in the specialty fields of oral medicine, sports medicine, and orthopedics. In hair restoration, evidence supports PRP therapy as a promising treatment option to promote hair growth. PRP augments current FDA approved therapies such as DHT blockers (Propecia) and Minoxidil.

IV Therapy

Vitamin drips infuse your body with pure vitamins, hydration & electrolytes, directly into the bloodstream for full absorption.

When you need a little boost to heal or feel better, Dr. Golberg’s proprietary vitamin iv drip infusion formulas can be a lifesaver. Our vitamin iv infusions help to prevent a cold or flu, regain your energy and mental focus, boost your fat and calorie burning power, and help rebuild muscles for athletic performance.

Vitamin drips are much more effective than taking oral supplements due to the fact that vitamin supplements get diminished in the GI tract, and thus do not get fully absorbed. With a vitamin drip, key nutrition is delivered to your blood for immediate and full absorption.

The result? An instant, noticeable improvement in overall body and mental function.

Osteopathic Medicine

Osteopathic Medicine emphasizes a whole-person approach toward treatment and care. Various joints and bones are manipulated to work with the structure and function of the body to optimize health and well-being by putting the body in optimal alignment.

PRP Injections

Elite athletes use PRP because it speeds up the rate at which tissue heals. PRP can be used to treat tendons, ligaments, and muscles. Of the three, the healing process for ligaments can be the most difficult and lengthy. Due to this, those who suffer from ligament injuries benefit greatly from PRP therapy to help shorten their healing time. PRP also is frequently used to aid the healing of tendonitis. Specifically, it is commonly used to treat tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), jumper’s knee (patellar tendinitis), rotator cuff tendinitis, and Achilles tendinopathy. Additionally, it is used to treat other tendon irritations, chronic tendon conditions, and bursitis around the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle joints. It is also shown to be effective in treating the pain associated with knee, hip, and shoulder osteoarthritis.
